The consumption of solar cells in Swedish households increased by 103% year-on-year in 2022

According to the Swedish newspaper Industry Today on March 12th, due to high electricity prices and tax incentives in the solar energy industry, more and more Swedish households are choosing to install solar power generation devices. In 2022, a total of 50000 newly installed solar cells will be integrated into the grid, and household consumption of solar cells will reach up to 6.6 billion Swedish kroner, a year-on-year increase of 103%. Anna Werner, CEO of Swedish Solar, the Swedish Solar Industry Association, said that the surge in the number of solar cells is challenging grid capacity, and some households are forced to wait for months to connect to the grid. The government must take action to increase the capacity of the power grid and meet the growing demand for solar power.
